It is hard to believe it has been almost a month since the last update! We did have a clinic visit two weeks ago just for a count check and results were great. Yesterday Oliver received VCR via his port and surprisingly his blood, platelet and ANC counts declined slightly. No transfusion or isolation required and the doctor expects the counts to fluctuate over the next couple of months as his body is still recovering from delayed intensification. Oliver was so brave at his clinic visit - no crying during the port access procedure, despite his fear. When Oliver is not playing outside with his friends he is working on his lessons at home (math, reading, etc.), playing with his change color cars and doting on his little sister. It is a welcome site. We are looking into enrolling him in some extracurricular activities - maybe soccer or karate, whichever Oliver chooses. We hope to get settled into a routine soon and are so happy to have made it to the maintenance stage. Oliver often asks when the clinic visits will end. This is a difficult question to answer. Three minutes to Oliver is a lifetime, let alone explaining three years - which isn't entirely true - treatment ends in three years, but clinic visits are for his lifetime. The response is simply "every two weeks" which might as well be in a foreign language to Oliver. I do struggle at times with accepting not knowing what caused the leukemia for Oliver. Ultimately, I realize there is no choice but to accept it for now. Please continue to keep Oliver in your prayers - he has been through so much and still has a long way to go.

I started this blog as a way to keep everyone updated on Oliver's status and am so thankful for the outpouring from our friends, family and beyond. Thank you all for the support!
