Our clinic day was moved up this week to Thursday and going forward will be on Thursdays.  We like the change, it is less crowded and while there are still wait times, it is not as bad as Friday.  Oliver had his spinal tap performed at the clinic and did not even know the procedure was performed - he slept through the entire thing.  He is recovering well - what a huge difference from PACU.  He will have to start some physical therapy soon for his legs - nothing too serious, but a common side effect of the VCR is trouble with walking.  The nurse practitioner assured us today that this is a short term thing and easily treatable and also he will not receive any more VCR for about a month after today's dose.  We also got good news, Oliver's MRD results were negative, meaning he is in "remission" and his consolidation chemo will be standard (4 weeks not as many drugs) instead of intensified (8 weeks, more drugs).  We have noticed Oliver's energy increase over this last week and he is happy.  We hope you all enjoy your weekend and we will update you as we can over the next few days.  PS) Be sure to check out new pics uploaded from the blood drive on the "pics" page.  Also, the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is going to do a blog on the blood drive held in honor of Oliver at my firm - will be sure to post the link when it is available.
